Today is the 1st day of spring, so it’s time to start thinking about spring cleaning.
When the seasons change, it gives us new opportunities to tidy up. Spring cleaning is not always just about tidying up your living space. It’s about tidying up mentally, physically, and emotionally as well.
Here is how to spring clean your life:
Starting off with the most common and obvious; clean up the space you’re living in whether it be your bedroom, a living room, or your entire home. Decluttering and organizing your home will give you a sense of control, especially when it may feel like other things in life are out of your control. Cleaning your space actually decreases your stress levels. Don’t believe me? Read up on it here.
This is essential! Mental health is just as important as physical health. If your mind is in not a good space, odds are, you won’t even be motivated to work on your physical health. So go ahead and declutter your mind by praying, journaling, taking a long bubble bath, binge watch your favorite comfort show or movie, read a book, meditate, block that person you know you should’ve blocked a while ago. (LOL) Whatever it is, make sure you are creating room for yourself to live in the best headspace possible.
A healthy life is a happy life. Take the time out to move your body and nourish it with the right things. Go walking in nature, stretch, go to the gym, eat your fruits & veggies, take your vitamins (make sure you consult your doctor on which vitamins to take), and one of the biggest things you need to do is REST. Please, please, please do yourself a favor and listen to your body. We only get one, so let’s start taking better care of it this season.
Spring cleaning does not have to be linear, it can be a never-ending lifestyle. Remember, the grass is greener where you water it. So take full advantage of this new season and all it has to offer. Happy spring everyone! Let’s make this season one of the good parts!
