Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story

Hey yall! I haven’t done any TV/Film content in a while. Literally, the last review was this one. I know, I’m slipping.

But I want to switch it up! Instead of an entire synopsis, I’ll be doing a What I’m Watching This Week series. I’m pretty sure, it’s self-explanatory. But if not, 😀 I’ll just be telling you guys about whatever I’ve been primarily watching that week. 😀 LOL  I may still do full synopsizes on my opinion of shows and films in detail here and there, but I like this idea a little more for now.

What I’m Watching This Week

For my very first What I’m Watching This Week post, I’ll be highlighting the hit Netflix series, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story

Quick Summary

A young woman’s arranged marriage to the King of England leads to a whirlwind love story and a cultural restructuring.

My Thoughts

If you haven’t at least started watching Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, what exactly are you waiting for babe? First of all, it’s a period piece. Love those. Its protagonist is a black woman. Love her. And the leading lady in said period piece is the Queen of England. Love THAT!

Listen, I’m really here for everything Bridgerton related. Shonda Rhimes knows how to write a SHOW. It has lots of drama, lots of romance, and even a good bit of comedic relief within it. I also would like to add that young King George is cute and young Queen Charlotte is beautiful. So if you needed an incentive, a cute cast is always a great one!

Do NOT spoil it for me!

Now I’m not done watching the season, so NO spoilers, but I’m loving what I am seeing so far. Let me know if you guys like it too! What else are you guys watching this week? Please send any and all recommendations.

Side Note

So, I’m going to see the live-action of The Little Mermaid, tonight AND tomorrow. So you know I will be back with my thoughts. I’m very excited. I am very confident that Halle Bailey will do a wonderful job in the role. I’m also happy that little black girls are seeing someone that looks like them get to play such a majestic and exciting role.

Representation will always matter. I think we’re getting to a good part of seeing more of it in cinema. I hope we keep going. Don’t forget to follow me on Pinterest here!
