A Guideline for Springtime in Chicago

Hey guys! Daylight savings time is just around the corner, which means springtime is just around another… And you know what that means? More SUN, less glum! This post is for my friends who are beginning to see the light at the end of a very long tunnel – the end of seasonal depression. I know it can be rough, but it’s almost over. That is why today’s post is a guideline for springtime in Chicago!

Here are 6 things to do in Chicago this upcoming spring:

Chicago Botanic Garden

One of the best ways to celebrate spring is by going to see the flowers bloom at Chicago’s Botanic Garden. With over 2.8 million plants, covering 385 acres, it is easy to get lost in this garden’s beauty. Now I will be honest with you, this garden is not located in actual Chicago. It is located about 45 mins away from The Loop, which is considered the heart of downtown Chicago. So, if you plan on going, make sure you have gas or Uber money!

Location: 1000 Lake Cook Road Glencoe, IL 60022

The Shedd Aquarium

Another great place to visit during the spring is The Shedd Aquarium. With more than 1,500 species of aquatic animals, The Shedd has a lot to offer. You can walk through the exhibits or sit for a show, either way, it’s an amazing experience. Located in the South Loop, The Shedd is bordered by Lake Michigan.

Location: 1200 S. DuSable Lake Shore Drive Chicago, IL 60605

Chicago River Architect Tour

The springtime is when the Chicago River Architect tours are back. If you want to learn the history behind Chicago’s beautiful structures, from one of the best views in the city, I would definitely recommend kicking back on a river tour. Tours range from 45-90 mins, so there are certainly options for everyone.

45 Min Tour Location: 400 N Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60611, USA

60 Min Tour Location: 401 N Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60611, USA or 124 N Streeter Dr, Chicago, IL 60611, USA

90 Min Tour Location: 400 N Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60611, USA

Festivals

Chicago loves a good festival! Between Music, Food, Films, and more. We cannot get enough of celebrating life at festivals around the city. I know you’ve heard about Lollapalooza… right?!

Parades

When the heat starts rising in Chicago, so does the number of parades in the city. Chicago is a major city that has major parades going on all of the time. One of the most popular spring parade’s being the St. Patrick’s Day Downtown Parade and River Dyeing.

Concerts

Concerts in Chicago…. need I say more? Concerts are a great way to listen to some of your favorite artists with a group of friends. Since Chicago is a major city in the US, we are a frequent stop for many artists. And in the spring, concert season is a vibe here. Beyoncé is coming to Chicago in July! Hope you’ve got your tickets already!
